Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Policy

The Transformational Thinking Journal is committed to promoting equal opportunities, diversity, inclusion, and respect for human rights throughout all stages of the editorial process, in accordance with the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the Sex and Gender Equity in Research (SAGER) Guidelines, the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), and internationally recognized best practices in scholarly publishing.

The journal rejects all forms of discrimination and promotes an editorial culture based on academic merit, scientific integrity, and respect for diversity.


1. Equal Opportunity

Editorial decisions are based exclusively on scientific quality, originality, relevance, and methodological rigor.

Editorial evaluation shall not be influenced by:

  • sex;
  • gender;
  • gender identity or expression;
  • sexual orientation;
  • age;
  • disability;
  • ethnicity;
  • nationality;
  • language;
  • religion;
  • political beliefs;
  • socioeconomic status;
  • institutional affiliation;
  • any other personal characteristic.

2. Inclusive and Respectful Language

The journal encourages the use of clear, respectful, inclusive, and non-discriminatory language.

Authors are encouraged to avoid expressions that reinforce stereotypes or exclusion and to promote respectful scientific communication.


3. Sex and Gender in Research

When relevant to the study design, authors should:

  • explain how sex and gender were considered in the research;
  • report sex- or gender-disaggregated data where appropriate;
  • discuss the potential implications of these variables for the study findings.

The journal recommends following the SAGER (Sex and Gender Equity in Research) Guidelines.


4. Diversity in Editorial Processes

The journal seeks to maintain an editorial board and reviewer community characterized by disciplinary, geographic, institutional, and cultural diversity.

Editors and reviewers are selected based on academic expertise and scientific competence while promoting equal opportunities and avoiding discrimination.


5. Bias-Free Peer Review

Editors and reviewers are expected to conduct evaluations objectively, fairly, and respectfully.

Offensive, discriminatory, or biased comments toward authors will not be tolerated.

Whenever bias is identified, the journal will take appropriate measures to ensure a fair editorial process.


6. Accessibility and Inclusion

The journal promotes the broad dissemination of scientific knowledge through Open Access and encourages participation from researchers representing diverse regions, institutions, and scientific communities.


7. Zero Tolerance for Discrimination

The journal maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward:

  • discrimination;
  • harassment;
  • intimidation;
  • verbal abuse;
  • exclusion;
  • retaliation.

Such conduct is unacceptable at any stage of the editorial process and may result in editorial actions in accordance with the journal's policies and the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
